  THE AWO TIMES Campus News | May 30, 2025 — MUTMAHINAH SURGERY DREAMS CLOSER TO REALITY AS FACULTY OF LAW COMPLETES FUNDRAISING  The Faculty of Law, here at Obafemi Awolowo University has successfully raised the funds needed for their ailing Coursemate, Mutmahinah Oladosu's surgery. The initiative, which began on wednesday, with a campus-wide rally and fundraising drive by the Faculty of Law culminated into a triumphant moment for the Faculty and the entire university community. Oladosu Mutmahinah, a 200 level student of the faculty of law, Obafemi Awolowo University is suffering from an acute kidney injury. The total cost of the surgery needed, including post surgery costs is estimated at #40 million naira.   The amount seemed quite a stretch, but the part 2 Law student took to the streets of the university campus rallying for financial assistance to save the life of their coursemate.   THE AWO TIMES Campus News | May 28, 2025 -- Faculty of Law Rallies for Mutimainah In a moving show of solidarity, students from the Faculty of Law took to the streets of Obafemi Awolowo University today in a rally for their ailing coursemate, Mutimainah Oladosu, who is currently battling chronic kidney disease and urgently requires a kidney transplant. Towards the Student Union Building, their chants and placards bore a common message: "Mutimainah’s Life Matters." But while the passion was loud, one cannot help but ask—is the campus hearing them well enough? In times like this, we are reminded that student activism is not just about protests; it's about compassion, unity, and fighting for one of our own. Yet the momentum must not stop at a march.   THE AWO TIMES Campus News | May 24, 2025 --- PharmaSpark ’25 Ignites Passion and Knowledge at OAU Faculty of Pharmacy Day 4 of PANS Week brought us to the Faculty of Pharmacy for PharmaSpark ’25—a day packed with ideas, energy, and healthy competition. The event kicked off with a warm and spontaneous opening prayer, led by a volunteer from the crowd. It set the tone for what became a day full of learning and excitement. Shortly after, the President of PANS gave a short speech about the preparations that went into making PharmaSpark happen. OAU TMC Reverts Bus Fare to N100, Enforces New Transport Rules

  THE AWO TIMES Campus News | May 20, 2025 --- OAU TMC Reverts Bus Fare to N100, Enforces New Transport Rules The Transport Management Commission (TMC) of Obafemi Awolowo University has announced a return to the former bus fare of N100, effective this week. This follows discussions with school management and bus operators. The TMC also introduced stricter regulations to improve campus transportation safety and order. These include: - Mandatory helmets for all Okada riders (private and commercial). - Only one passenger per bike. - A zero-tolerance policy for buses with safety defects such as faulty doors. Approved Okada fares are now: - Campus Gate to Bus Stop: N200 - Campus Gate to Halls/Market: N300 - Campus Gate to Academics: N300 Additionally, the TMC announced upcoming interventions on Road 7, including free and subsidized transport options starting this week. Students are encouraged to support one another and report unsafe buses by submitting plate numbers to the commission.

According to a press release issued on Monday, the Security Committee reported that one student was injured in the D & D Hostel attack, sustaining a machete wound to the head. What was supposed to be a quiet night turned into a nightmare for students at Moremi Estate, as a violent theft raid at D and D Hostel left the residents perplexed one student critically injured. Residents of the hostel affected, D and D hostel to be precise, said the attackers broke into the hostel at midnight and in the course of that, they delivered a severe blow to the student’s head, leaving him unconscious and in critical condition.
