TERROR AT MIDNIGHT;
ARMED ROBBERS STORM MOREMI ESTATE IN ILE-IFE.
What was supposed to be a quiet night turned into a nightmare for students at Moremi Estate, as a violent theft raid at D and D Hostel left the residents perplexed one student critically injured. Residents of the hostel affected, D and D hostel to be precise, said the attackers broke into the hostel at midnight and in the course of that, they delivered a severe blow to the student’s head, leaving him unconscious and in critical condition.
The incident, which happened at midnight, has left many students in shock and fear. “It felt like something out of a movie,” said one resident of D and D Hostel. “But this was real—and it could have been any one of us.”
This isn’t the first time Moremi has faced incidents like this, and the growing sense of insecurity amongst students is becoming unbearable, with many of them asking questions about the management of the hostel, if at all they care about the lives and security of the residents or they only care about the money they get.
D and D Hostel, like many others in Moremi, is privately managed, raising questions about the security standards being enforced across the estate. Students are calling on hostel managers, school authorities, and estate security to take immediate and visible action—before things get worse.
For now, students are left checking over their shoulders, double-locking doors, and hoping they’ll be safe through the night. One thing is clear: something has to change.
INDEED IT'S A THING OF PITY AND REQUIRES URGENT ACTIONS.
THE AWO TIMES SENDS HER CONDOLENCES TO ALL AFFECTED STUDENTS OF D AND D HOSTEL - WE WILL CONTINUE TO DO OUR BEST IN BRINGING THINGS LIKE THIS TO THE LIMELIGHT UNTIL ACTION IS TAKEN BY THE NECESSARY AUTHORITIES.
