OAU TMC Reverts Bus Fare to N100, Enforces New Transport Rules

The Transport Management Commission (TMC) of Obafemi Awolowo University has announced a return to the former bus fare of N100, effective this week. This follows discussions with school management and bus operators.

The TMC also introduced stricter regulations to improve campus transportation safety and order. These include:
- Mandatory helmets for all Okada riders (private and commercial).
- Only one passenger per bike.
- A zero-tolerance policy for buses with safety defects such as faulty doors.

Approved Okada fares are now:
- Campus Gate to Bus Stop: N200
- Campus Gate to Halls/Market: N300
- Campus Gate to Academics: N300

Additionally, the TMC announced upcoming interventions on Road 7, including free and subsidized transport options starting this week.

Students are encouraged to support one another and report unsafe buses by submitting plate numbers to the commission.
