OAU DECLARES LECTURE FREE DAYS FOR FRESH STUDENTS

Earlier today, Tuesday, 13 January 2026, the management of Obafemi Awolowo University held a meeting during which it declared a two-day lecture-free period for newly admitted students.

‎The lecture-free period will take place on Wednesday, 14 January, and Thursday, 15 January 2026.

‎According to the management, the decision is to enable all fresh students to complete their faculty and departmental registrations, as well as pay all compulsory fees, within their respective faculties.

‎This, the university noted, is necessary to ensure their eligibility to participate in the matriculation ceremony scheduled for Thursday, 15 January 2026.

  THE AWO TIMES Campus News | June 14, 2025 --- GREAT IFE STUDENT UNION PRO RAISES THE BAR WITH 'TUG OF WORDS' DEBATE COMPETITION  The Great Ife Student Union Public Relations Officer in conjunction with The Obafemi Awolowo University Literary and Debating Society, on Saturday, 14th of June 2025, hosted an inter-institution tournament —TUG OF WORDS – A British Parliamentary Tournament.  Held at Oduduwa hall in Obafemi Awolowo University. The tournament featured four great institutions namely: University of Ibadan (UI), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
