FABIYI KEHINDE VICTOR: A REMARKABLE JOURNEY

The Journey of Fabiyi Kehinde Victor, the Best Graduating student of the department of political science at Obafemi Awolowo University, is a story of resilience, determination,hard work and focus.

Kehinde was born and raised in Ibadan, oyo state to a family who valued education. He attended Golden Rings Group of Schools and Jeislo International School for his primary education and TL Oyesina Model School Ibadan for his secondary school education. He has always been an A student since his primary school days and academic excellence his core values throughout his university days.

His decision to study political science was influenced by his interest in understanding how the government works and the impact of politics in Nigeria and in the global world.

Graduating with a first class and also being the best Graduating student came with a lot of challenges, where he had to balance his academics with extra curricular activities, finances , and also project work but his balance came with him prioritizing them

He said " To be honest, balancing school work and social activities was a challenge, but I developed a strategy that worked for me. I learned to prioritize my time effectively. I usually participate in social activities, but when exam time is approached, I devote myself fully to studying. I read rigorously during exam and test periods, and make sure I didn't pile up assignments. I usually start reading two weeks before exams, and my favorite spot was the Awo reading room. It helped me stay focused and on track. Effective time management is the key to multitasking.

His personal principles guided him through his success journey

"I believe in anything that is worth doing at all worth doing well , I always aim to be among the best in everything I do and anywhere I find myself".

He owed thanks to his support systems that became a backbone to his success 

"I received support from a lot of people right from my parents , to my siblings , my twin sister Taiwo, my class rep Asiwaju, My friends Joshua, Timi , Saint and members of LOM ,My classmates Political Erudites , Roommates from Part 1 to 4 and a lot of people I can't even mention are my biggest supporters they all contributed a lot to this success story"

Fabiyi Kehinde graduated with a CPGA of 4.52 being the second person in years to attain a first class in the department of political science and also the Best Graduating student of the department.

Looking ahead, Kehinde plans to dabble into politics in the future, which he believes in him having to study this course has given him an edge.

Kehinde's story stands as a reminder that success is not created by laziness but by timeliness, focus, balance, commitment and determination . With this anyone can rise to the top.

  THE AWO TIMES Campus News | June 14, 2025 --- GREAT IFE STUDENT UNION PRO RAISES THE BAR WITH 'TUG OF WORDS' DEBATE COMPETITION  The Great Ife Student Union Public Relations Officer in conjunction with The Obafemi Awolowo University Literary and Debating Society, on Saturday, 14th of June 2025, hosted an inter-institution tournament —TUG OF WORDS – A British Parliamentary Tournament.  Held at Oduduwa hall in Obafemi Awolowo University.
