OAU MANDATES CBT FOR LARGE CLASSES

‎By Goodness Olope

‎The Obafemi Awolowo University has mandated the use of Computer-Based Tests (CBT) for all courses with student enrolment exceeding 250, as part of measures to improve assessment efficiency and credibility.

‎The directive was contained in an internal memorandum issued by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) following a decision of the University Senate.

‎According to the memo, the CBT requirement applies to both mid-semester tests and examinations, and all faculties and departments are expected to comply strictly with the directive.

‎While urging members of the faculty to prepare adequately, the mid semester test for freshmen has been slated for January 19-24 as approved by the University Senate.

‎The University emphasized that strict adherence to both the approved test schedule and the CBT mandate is compulsory. The memo was signed by Professor G. A. Aderounmu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics).
